WHAT WE DO
Focus on Education
Access to education is a basic human right. Unfortunately, for millions of children in Haiti, this isn’t the case. Almost all the children in Haiti leave primary school unable to read. For poor children specifically, only half of them attend any primary school at all, and less than a quarter attended secondary school.
While there are a multitude of contributing reasons.
Health: The cycle of poverty
At The DAMABIAH Foundation, we play an active role in the rehabilitation of medical clinics, hospitals and the distribution of medicine, medical supplies, and equipment.
Good health is central to human happiness and well-being. It also makes an important contribution to economic progress, as healthy populations live longer and are more productive.
Being hungry means more than just missing a meal. It’s a debilitating crisis that has nearly 4 million people in its grip. Hunger is a perilous cycle that passes from one generation to the next: Families who struggle with chronic hunger and malnutrition consistently go without the nutrients their minds and bodies need, which then prevents them from being able to perform their best at work, school, or to improve their lives.
DAMABIAH Foundation is seeking funds to provide remote villages and vulnerable communities with access to clean safe drinking water. Your donations are making a real difference and changing lives. Thank you!
Clean, safe drinking water is scarce. Today, nearly 1 billion people in the developing world don’t have access to it. Yet, we take it for granted. Water is the foundation of life. And still today, all around the world, particularly in poor country in Haiti.
When a child is abandoned, has lost one or both parents and his life changes beyond all measure, who can she/he turns to? Sponsoring a poor or orphaned child bestows the gift of a new life and brighter future for children who may be left helpless and alone.
Where there is extreme poverty, there are always orphaned and abandoned children. Political conflict, ineffective governance, corruption, and poor access to health care creates an environment in which children suffer the most.
The child does not live on bread alone, but on everything that contributes to his complete well-being.
Approximately 25,000 children in Haiti live in orphanages. Poverty, hope for a better life or a disability are among the reasons why people send their children to orphanages. However, orphanages can do more harm to a child than good, especially when they are not classified as true orphans.
Reasons Parents Send Children to an Orphanage.
Organizations and ministries around the world care for orphans as well as abandoned children, street kids, and other vulnerable children at risk of going hungry. One of the greatest expenses to caring for these children is food, something they often went to bed without eating.
We are very pleased that you are considering our organization for international adoption. The goal of our adoption program is to place Haitian children in need into caring and loving families.
More and more families flee home because of climate and violence. But there are fewer places to go. We’re leading the charge in strategy and welcome.
We believe every family has the right to live in safety and dignity. That is why we welcome internally displaced persons IDPs and disaster victims with open hearts and helping hands.
When disasters strike, we immediately deploy to our affected areas working closely with community leaders to identify.
Become a church/organization partner
Many churches and charities are impacting the world through their local and international mission projects. Few are doing anything on an international level… which can change the landscape of many counties particularly Haiti.
We believe that church/organization partnership is that vehicle and we heartily encourage and invite you to stand with us as ministry partners in spreading the gospel.
Damabiah Foundation serves nearly thousands of people every year with a diverse range of programs, offering basic necessities and help in moving toward greater stability. Our programs and the people we serve rely on donors for gifts of time and treasure. Several items are always needed to continue our services to men, women and children. In whatever way you choose to give, thank you for your positive impact on the lives of those most in need. As a Donor, you don’t just give your money, you also invest your trust.
We offer volunteer assignments. And there is bound to be one that suits you.
